I've heard of the "mekekekwek" word but I do not know what it means... Maybe it's some cute looking monster? Or some street food? Or some sort of an insect? Or a dance craze? Well, anyway, I just thought of the "mekekekwek" word when I went to Chubi's cube and found this transparent container.
Ahh? Kek anyone? |
I saw the container labelled "VANANA KEK" and "KAROT KEK". When I asked Chubi what it meant I do have some hints but I just want to make sure... and she said "BANANA CAKE" and "CARROT CAKE".. Ahh... Okay... There goes the Bekimon fever! Chenelin chuvaness ever! Hehehehe...
Wow! Nice try. I can finally shed light to your 13 year old forgotten curiosity.
ReplyDeleteI tried to Google the thing to check a particular work of Vincent Cua, including Mekekewek. I haven't got any result but I was able to see your post instead and heck that was years ago.
Anyway, it's a work of fiction, a weekly comic series in the late 80s or early 90s by the legendary Vincent Cua. I forgot the exact comics but I can tell you that Mekekewek is a monster living hidden on the side of a guy. It's like a siamese twin, an underdeveloped one and he's a monster.
I reused the term to describe something fugly but so cute. I used to call my cat Mekekewek. My ex misheard it, adding another "k" before "w" hence making it Mekekekwek. From there, I often heard her using the word in a convo, when it's appropriate or when she describe something that similarly with a Mekekekwek vibe.
